It’s been far too long
since I’ve felt the heat
of your lips
but any length of time
whatsoever
is far too long a time
so I’m trying
(and usually failing)
to be patient
we must devise a plan
to either prolong
the delicious agony–
keeping your lips
just out of reach
or
come close to me
so I can satisfy
my need for
