every morning
I wake to a script
written for me
go here
do that
fill this prescription
tick off this task
menial chores
robbed of connection
points away from purpose

my soul wants

needs
a dream
a real fantasy to
chase down
and make
waking hours fly
instead of crawling
in and out of this
unmade bed
